I, like you, love the freedom the Internet offers. I revel in the anonymity, the privacy, afforded to all users. I do not wish to take that away; nor do I want it to disappear. Thus, you may ask, "why create an account?"
After using SoapBlox software for years, I realized that this "net neighborhood" offers infinite freedom.
Some might wonder is the need to create an account an attempt to protect BeThink from spammers, slammers, the snide, rude, and crude. While that might be nice, I, Betsy, do not think it is truly possible; nor do I believe such controls are wise.
I think the healthiest communities are open to all. I believe there is something to be learned from the uniqueness of every user, every being. Reflecting upon my beliefs again you might muse, "Why create an account? I present my answer . . .
From my experience, SoapBlox software opens up avenues not available in other forums.
In a SoapBlox community, the user can be anonymous.
You can . . .
- Create a moniker that gives no clue of who you are in your "real" life.
- The electronic mail address need not hint at "who" you are. Yahoo, Juno, and Gmail offer free accounts.
- Share your soul with a sense of security!
In the "net neighborhood," SoapBlox developed an account holder . . .
- Builds his or her own page, a home away from home.
On this page, on your property, you have options and opportunities that are not available in many cyberspace communities.
You can choose to . . .
- Furnish a biography
- Originate a signature that will be automatically generated each time you comment
- Quickly access and retrieve your belongings,
Your comments, replies, evaluations, and recommendations are always available on your personal space.
Here, at BeThink, with thanks to SoapBlox, we can truly connect with our neighbors. Being able to return to our own home and visit with those, that thought to share with us personally is a luxury lost.
Your personal page is as a front porch. People walking by, seeing your smiling face, and feeling welcome by your words join you. They speak to you as individuals, for they recognize who you are. They recall a time when you were responsive to them, when they felt you cared.
They read your replies to their own comments. In a neighborhood where we know our neighbors, and can communicate with them directly, we spend time chatting on our lawns, strolling in the park, and getting to know each other.
Thus, I ask you to create an account and to become part of a broader community. Choose to be anonymous or walk outside in your pajamas.
I invite you into BeThink and hope that you will be comfortable.
On this site, on this street, you can share more deeply with your neighbors. Perhaps they will become as familiar as friends or family you see daily. That is my desire and dream.
